This course is designed for people who care for others who require support, such as an elderly parent, a spouse, a person with a disability or whatever form care giving takes for you. Whether caregiving is a labor of love or something we’ve found ourselves doing by default or surprise, it takes an enormous amount of energy and can stretch us in ways we’ve never been stretched before. Caregiver burnout is real. Would it be great to received acknowledgment of the weight of responsibility you are carrying? And do you long for support in tending to yourself with care?

In this training, I will share NVC skills, awareness and tools tailored specifically to caring for your own wellbeing while in the role of caregiver. We will focus on:
Empathy, Empathy, Empathy!!
Identifying the beautiful Needs that all humans share
Discovering how our Feelings are experienced in our bodies and point directly to our Needs
Practicing Self Connection through our breath, our body and acknowledging Needs
Exploring other forms of Resonance to nurture a warm inner voice
Exploring strategies and asking for support
Experiencing empathic community and shared reality
Leah Boyd is a certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication. She lives with and cares for her 89 year old Mom.
