May 24, 2021 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

We rely upon each other for helpful information about how we show up in the world, where our skills could use improvement, what our impact is and more.

From the perspective of Nonviolent Communication, we are interested in giving and receiving this information in ways that enhance connection and maximize the likelihood of hearing and being heard. Unfortunately, many of us have not experienced nor witnessed a lot of skillfully delivered feedback andtherefore we may cringe when someone asks, “Can I offer you some feedback?”, which we may hear as “Can I tell you myjudgments of you?”.

In this interactive 7.5 hour training participants will explore the benefits of becoming skillful at both giving and receiving feedback by:

  • Unpacking what makes feedback challenging

  • Strengthening our ability to receive feedback by becoming aware of and asking for the type of feedback we would like

  • Strengthening our ability to give feedback by being very clear about the type of feedback we want to give to another and what needs are motivating us to do so

This training will include concepts introduced in the book Thanks for the Feedback, by Sheila Heen & Dougless Stone interpreted through the lens of Nonviolent Communication. We will also touch upon concepts shared by Sarah Peyton (sarahpeyton.com) to help us understand some of the neurobiology present in feedback conversations.  Giving and Receiving Feedback training is useful in all types of feedback situations: Work, Family, Relationships, and more.

Fee: $100 per person

Prerequisite: Participants must have completed a Level 1 NVC Training or it’s equivalent.
